Spotlight - new course 2009          

• Certificate III in General Construction (Wall and Floor Tiling)/Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building)
• Duration: 2 Years
• Start Date: Course commences in February and July each year

About the course:
The Certificate III in General Construction (Wall and Floor Tiling) provides comprehensive training in all practical and theoretical aspects of the wall and floor tiling trade. Wherever possible, work is undertaken on full-size projects at Holmesglen with specially designed facilities. The Certificate IV in Building and Con- struction (Building) is undertaken in the second year and provides advanced training for those wishing to undertake large scale and more complex projects. On completion of both Certificates, students may apply for entry into the Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) and receive advanced standing.

Course outcome:
The Certificate III in General Construction (Wall and Floor Tiling) provides students with the skills of a wall and floor tiler as identified on the Migration Occupations in Demand List.                                                                           

Pre-requisites(s):
Good passes at Year 11 level or the overseas equivalent and preferably some relevant work experience; and English language proficiency level of IELTS 5.5, ISLPR 2+, TOEFL 197 (CB) or 71 (iBT) or equivalent.
